REASON FOR ALL SEASONS

If we gathered today and walked down the streets of Athens, AL it would not be difficult to recognize what season it is.

You will find Santa Claus, Elves, decorated trees, and all the festive things all along the square in Athens.

It is the season of Christmas.

A time of year that a lot of people celebrate for Santa Claus.

Now don’t get me wrong; I love the gift giving. I LOVE giving gifts.

If I was a person who was able I would pass out gifts all the time..because I so love to see a person’s face light up with a big smile.

This is a joy of mine.

Something troubles me though..

I see the phrase…

COME ON PEOPLE

HE IS THE REASON FOR EVERY SEASON

He GAVE you breathe.

He DIED for you.

He ROSE from the grave.

He is COMING again.

Of Hens and Humans

I saw a lot of human characteristics and actions while I sat there on the stoop at my Mama's Ruby's house. You can learn a lot watching the happenings in a barnyard. I know I did watching the many adventures of my grandparent's roosters and chickens. This brought to me, after all of these years, in a featherly way what is common and wrong in the lives of people. We are a lot like those birds. I have a beautiful group of chickens and roosters. They are all different varieties and colors. Each one has its own style and personality. JUST DUST

JUST DUST As I peered down the grocer aisle, there she was.. Standing there with her red pigtails, and fancy hair bows. I wanted to melt into the floor, and fade into the tile. NO NOT ONE I was sitting on the doorstep with my friend Sophie one Saturday evening, and I said, “Sophie, ask your Mama if you spend the night at my house tonight.” “Hey, great idea”, she said. We were only seven years old, and having a sleep over was way cool. Then she said, “Oh wait, tomorrow is Sunday. Are you going to go to church?” I said, “Well, yes, of course I am, but you can go with us. Come on, you will like Sunday School.
